Steven Spielberg will film the major feature film Lincoln in the Richmond and Petersburg areas,” relayed Brogan Dinger, coordinator of the Giles County Film Office. Filming will begin in the fall. The movie is slated for release in 2012.She continued, “ I will represent the Giles County Film Office at a meeting with Virginia Film Office Director Rita McClenny and Location Manager Andy Edmunds to learn more about the upcoming film project about Abraham Lincoln and the eight-year saga of what it took to recruit the high profile Spielberg.
